2D CAD Drawing Board
2D CAD Drawing Board gives you a lightweight grid drafting canvas in the browser. Draw lines, rectangles, circles, and polylines; move selected shapes; snap to grid; pan and zoom; undo and redo; then export PNG or SVG.
How to use
- Choose Line, Rectangle, Circle, or Polyline, then click on the canvas to place geometry.
- Keep Snap to grid enabled when you want points aligned to the visible drafting grid.
- When drawing a line or polyline, place the first point, then type a length in the floating input or press Tab to enter an exact angle.
- For rectangles and circles, place the first point, then type width and height or radius in grid units and press Enter for exact dimensions.
- Use Connect endpoints mode to click two line or polyline vertices and join them into a shared endpoint; moving one connected line keeps the joint attached.
- Use Select/Move to drag shapes; drag empty space to pan the view, and use the mouse wheel to zoom.
- Use undo, redo, delete selected, or clear all to manage the drawing, then export PNG or SVG.
Use cases
- Sketch a rough room, desk, part, booth, or layout before opening heavier CAD software.
- Use the live length readout to estimate simple line segments and paths.
- Export SVG for slides, documents, design files, or later vector editing.
Privacy & local processing
The drawing model stays in your browser page. PNG and SVG exports are generated locally without uploading your drawing to a server.
FAQ
- Is this a full CAD application?
- No. It is a lightweight 2D drafting board for sketches, layouts, and diagrams. It does not replace professional CAD dimensioning or engineering workflows.
- What do the grid units mean?
- The canvas uses relative grid units for alignment and rough scale. Convert them to real measurements according to your own drawing scale.
- How do I draw with an exact length and angle?
- Choose Line or Polyline and place the first point. Type a length in grid units and press Enter to draw in the current cursor direction, or press Tab, enter an angle, and press Enter. Angles use 0° to the right and 90° upward.
- Can I type exact rectangle or circle dimensions?
- Yes. Choose Rectangle, place the first corner, enter width and height in grid units, then press Enter. Choose Circle, place the center, enter a radius in grid units, then press Enter. Dimension commits keep the exact typed value and do not snap again to the grid.
- How do I connect two separate lines?
- Press Connect endpoints, click the first line endpoint, then click the second line or polyline endpoint. The second endpoint moves onto the first and becomes joined, so moving either connected line keeps the shared point attached.
- What does SVG export include?
- The SVG export includes the current model shapes: lines, rectangles, circles, and polylines, so they can be edited in vector tools.
